A Fresh Start: Nurturing a Healthy Lifestyle in January

Greetings, wonderful parents and younger students!

As January unfolds, we embark on a journey of well-being tailored just for you. This month's theme is all about embracing a Healthy Lifestyle – making smart choices, staying active, and ensuring restful sleep. Join us as we dive into fun and accessible ways to nurture your health and happiness. 

Packing healthy lunches that everyone enjoys and are quick and easy can be hard. In our house we use a bin system to give our children choices for the week. We use two bin system, one in the pantry that has pre-portioned snacks such as apple sauce cups, veggie straws, granola bars etc. In the second bin in the fridge there is cut up fruit and veggies, yogurt, cheese, peeled hard boiled eggs etc. Our children help pick and prepare what items go into the bins. Some families have a third bin in the freezer with frozen sandwiches in them. Then in the morning in our house we just make a sandwich and choose healthy options from the bins to complete the lunch. Give it a try and see if it helps make the morning a little less rushed! Send me an email and let me know what helps your family make smart choices, stay active and get a restful sleep! In wellness classes this month we will be chatting about smart life choices, nutrition and sleep habits.
